HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIRA!

Our Mira has been in our family for two years now and we have had such a wonderful time. She is a light to all who meet her. She is smart (as you can tell with her abc's); she loves her sister Aspynn; she is definitely a daddy's girl (maybe because mommy disciplines her :); and beautiful like no other!

What a wonderful joy she is. We love her immensely and wish this birthday a great one for her.

How come we are so bad at this?

Oh yeah,

Because our computer wanted to quit on us. We don't have our normal computer to play with, so we have a billion pics to download and all of the projects we want to do have been postponed. Hopefully in the near future we will get our tax return back which will buy us a new computer. THEN we will keep up (that means at least once a month) on posting to our blog.

To update:

Larry has started substituting for the San Bernardino School District and has enjoyed working everyday since he was able. To tattle on him...I think he is a facebook addict and you will always be able to find him on there when he has the least bit of time.

Kaylene WHOOHOOO is going to the BYU Women's Conference this week. Leaving Wed (29th), returning Sat (2nd). I am so excited! The hardest part is leaving my family for 4 days. Especially Aspynn who is a momma's girl. I feel for my friend Sarah who gets to hear her scream for the next 4 days. I have been trying to make it easier for everyone, but we shall see.

Mira is now sleeping on a toddler bed. (The crib without the front) The hard part is for mommy and daddy when she wakes up in the middle of the night and knows that she can come into our room. Mira is so smart. She almost knows all of her abc's in sign language and can recognize some of them on paper as well as say some of them.

Aspynn is showing more of her personality lately. She loves touching and tasting things. She is learning to scoot and is still learning the benefits of rolling over. Aspynn only wants mom when she is tired and has very good lungs. It is so much fun to see Mira put on a show for Aspynn and then see Aspynn laugh and smile. They sure love each other.

Our garden is doing great. The plants that are doing well are the corn, tomatoes, beans, spinach, swiss chard, and bell peppers. We will post a pic soon.

This is starting to sound like a Christmas letter so I will leave you with that and look for upcoming posts from our new computer. :)

Our BIG GIRL

Today we went over our friend Katie's house and while Mira played with her son Ryan, we weighed Aspynn on an infant scale. She weighed a whooopin' 15 pounds 3 1/2 ounces. She is only 19 weeks old. And you would not have guessed that nursing was sooo, what's the right word, excruciatingly awful at the beginning. I just hope that she appreciates all that I do for her when she gets older. We'll see.

It's that time again.

Well, as you may have noticed, we haven't added any new post on here for quite a while. Let's just say that things have been somewhat busy, not to mention the fact that the display on our computer has not been cooperating (it is worse than a stubborn toddler).
Here are some of the other things that have happened in the last few months:

Larry lost his job at Juvenile Hall and started the credential program at University of Redlands.
Kaylene started a little business.
Mira continues to grow like a weed and is increasing her vocabulary by leaps and bounds. She can sign the entire alphabet with help as well as identify a number of letters on her own. Mira also enjoys helping with the dishes and other things around the house more and more.
Aspynn is working hard to catch up to Mira in size. She continues to eat well and sleeps longer when we leave her in her bouncy chair than when we put her in the bassinet. She still hasn't rolled over, but is getting close.

Over the last few weeks, we have been planting a garden in the back yard. We put in a few tomato plants, some peppers, corn, zucchini, squash, cucumbers, beans, broccoli, spinach, swiss chard and carrots. Hopefully our harvest this year with a lot of different plants is similar to the harvest last year with only a few types. It's been a lot of fun to play in the dirt as a family.

Hopefully it doesn't take us quite as long to get back on here again.

Whew!!

So I just tried my new 'rebounder'. And let me tell you, within the first three mintues it had already kicked my butt, but I managed to get through 5 mins. 5 mins and I am already tired and I mean wore out. So that either means that this works really well or that I am really out of shape. Probably both.

I can tell that I will be encouraging all of the stay at home mothers, and those that do not have a lot of time to exercise, that this is the way to go for exercise.

Betterment

Recently I have been feeling like I need to better myself in different ways. This week has been learning to improve my health. My energy hasn't been as high as I know it could be and my body just tells me I need to do something about that, so...possibly due to an answer to prayer I have found several things that will help me as well as Larry (if he has time).

The first one is called psyllium husk powder. It is normally used as part of a colon cleanse system, but I was only able to obtain the powder for the time being. I am not going to try to explain it to you because I am not that great with words but I will post here a website that can. Enjoy...

Another wonderful addition to my exercise/health part of my betterment is what most people already have heard about but do not necessarily know what kind of help and also fun it can give us. I have also been looking for a way to get some aerobic exercise at home. This was the perfect remedy...its called 'rebounding'. :)

Just for a sneak peak at the website, here are some of the benefits of rebounding...

It increases the capacity for breathing.
It circulates more oxygen to the tissues.
It helps combat depression.
It helps normalize your blood pressure.
It helps prevent cardiovascular disease.
It increases the activity of the red bone marrow in the production of red blood cells.
It aids lymphatic circulation, as well as blood flow in the veins of the circulatory system.
It lowers elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
It stimulates the metabolism, thereby reducing the likelihood of obesity.
It tones up the glandular system, especially the thyroid to increase its output.
It improves coordination throughout the body.
It promotes increased muscle fiber tone.
It offers relief from neck and back pains, headaches, and other pain caused by lack of exercise.
It enhances digestion and elimination processes.
It allows for easier relaxation and sleep.
It results in a better mental performance, with sharper learning processes.
It relieves fatigue and menstrual discomfort for women.
It minimizes the number of colds, allergies, digestive disturbances, and abdominal problems.
It tends to slow down aging.

ORGANIZE YOUR HOME!!

Sorry we haven't posted in a while, but we have been a little busy.

I just wanted to share with all of you a little website that will change my life forever!!! he he

Trying to keep up a house with a husband and two small children has been the hardest thing. So I was talking with my sister-in-law today and she suggested this website that is all about organizing your home and lives. I think it is just wonderful (the things that I have been able to read just today). I hope you find it helpful and if you do please comment on why so that all of the other mothers and homemakers out there can join in our rejoicings. YEA for help in organizing!

Aspynn Vera Frost

Aspynn Vera Frost joined our family at 9:48 a.m. on Friday, October 31, 2008 (yes, we know it's Halloween). She was 7 lbs. 14.5 oz, 19.5" (but isn't going to stay that small because she eats really well).

We went into the hospital at 11:30 p.m. Thursday night to be induced, but they decided to see if things would progress on their own. After receiving some pain medication, we both slept for a few hours and the contractions slowed. Kaylene recieved an epidural at about 7:30, they added pitocin to the I.V. after that, and Aspynn came a bit later.
